I bought a body shop at 25. Then COVID hit.
I'm Jeremy Li, the owner of Crown Auto Body. I took over the shop in 2018 — an outdated facility with a great reputation — and I had big plans to modernize it. Then the world shut down.
I came in with an unusual background for a body shop owner: mechanics, aviation as a pilot, and makeup artistry. Mechanics gave me a deep understanding of how vehicles work. Aviation taught me safety, precision, and proper procedures. And makeup artistry gave me a sharp eye for color matching, blending, and fine details — the part of the job people notice first.
COVID killed a lot of businesses. The economy was shutting down, shops around us were closing for good. But I didn't get into this business to fail — just like everything else I've taken on, I was going to make it work.
So I worked hard every single day to upgrade the facility: newer equipment, modern paint technology, better repair processes, and training to keep up with today's advanced vehicles. While other shops were cutting back, I was investing.
Outside of work, I enjoy fishing and spending time on the water. But most days you'll find me in the shop, staying involved in every repair to make sure our customers get clear communication and quality workmanship. Because good repairs come from combining technical knowledge, craftsmanship, and attention to detail — while making the whole experience simple and stress-free.

Crown Auto Body was established in 1988 and has served Milpitas and the Bay Area for over three decades. When I took over, I kept the values that built the shop's reputation — quality workmanship, honest communication, fair treatment — and brought the facility into the modern era.
We're a full-service collision repair shop handling everything from minor dents to major structural repairs, and we work with all major insurance companies: estimates, supplements, approvals, parts coordination, rental cars, and final delivery. Our goal is to make the repair process as simple and stress-free as possible.
