Insurance Claims Guide

What to Do After a Car Accident

Crashed in Milpitas or the South Bay? Here is exactly what to do — and how we take the insurance headache off your plate.

Step by Step

Right After the Accident

  1. Make sure everyone is safe. Call 911 if anyone is hurt.
  2. Take photos of everything. All vehicles, plates, the scene.
  3. Exchange information. Name, phone, insurance, license plate.
  4. File a police report if there are injuries or major damage.
  5. Do not admit fault at the scene. Stick to the facts.

How the Insurance Process Works

  1. Report the claim and get a claim number.
  2. Choose your repair shop. California law says the choice is yours.
  3. Get a free estimate from us — bring your claim number or we will help you start.
  4. We handle the adjuster. Supplements, negotiations, approvals.
  5. We repair your car. Most jobs take 3-10 business days.
  6. You pick up. Final inspection, back on the road.
Good to Know

Deductibles, Rentals and Your Rights

Do I have to use my insurer's preferred shop?

No. California law guarantees your right to choose any licensed shop.

Will I pay my deductible?

If you were at fault, yes. If the other driver was at fault, their insurance covers it. We confirm before any work starts. California law prohibits shops from offering discounts intended to offset your deductible — we collect it as required and bill your insurer accurately.

What if the insurance estimate seems too low?

We write supplements and negotiate with the adjuster to get the full repair covered.

Can I get a rental car?

Yes — we coordinate with Enterprise and your insurance.
